Scores of ammunition seized in St Ann operation
An intelligence-led operation in Parry Town, St Ann, yesterday resulted in the seizure of three firearms and more than 100 rounds of ammunition.
According to the police's Constabulary Communications Network, four persons, one of them a female, were taken into custody following the seizure. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigation. Reports are that at about 5:30 a.m., lawmen conducted operations at two premises in the community. A Springfield .45 pistol along with a magazine and 33 rounds of .45 ammunition, and a Gamo Swarm Maxim G2 air rifle were seized at the first location. A search of the second address yielded a Stoeger 9mm semi-automatic pistol affixed with a magazine and 87 9mm rounds.
The St Ann police say the removal of the three firearms represents a significant disruption to criminal activity in the parish and increases the safety of residents.
